Rockingham Forest Riding Club was formed back in March 1971 to bring together the riders and horse lovers of Northamptonshire and to improve and maintain the standard of riding and horsemanship.
In these early days, the Club was fairly small and the instruction in riding and stable management was given at all standards from beginners to advanced, usually by members of the Club.
Competitions were normally held just for the members of the Club and teams were selected for the Area Competitions as they are now. Local venues were Rockingham Castle, Dunbelly Barn and Low Farm at Easton Maudit to name but a few.

Since those early days, the club has expanded its membership and provides a whole host of activities for its members throughout the season. By becoming a member (membership form available here) of the Rockingham Forest Riding Club you will receive a monthly newsletter, a chance to collect points in our competitions and win one of our many trophies.

We are an affiliated Riding Club, so you will get the BHS Riding Clubs magazine ‘Rider’ and the opportunity to represent the club at affiliated competitions both local and national. Affiliated club members also get a discount when purchasing merchandise from the BHS.
Qualified instruction is available throughout the year, as is friendly horsey advice, lectures and demonstrations.
Rocking Forest Riding Club (RFRC) is happy to welcome both Junior and Senior members and is open to all horse lovers in Northamptonshire and surrounding Counties.
